The Ashhurst course is in good order for to-dny's races, recent showers being followed by drying winds, and owners should have no fault to find vrith the state of the track there to-day. Acceptances are very satisfactory, the hack events in particular having filled Well. Mattock will not be a starter In the Hack Hurdles, and horses most discussed in Palroerston yeatarijay were ..Manhattan, MasteT Boris, Diamond Nap, and O'Rane. The race is very open, but the writer would not be surprised to see Manhattan sent out first favorite. In "doubles" Rouen and Hose Pink are strong orders in tho open events, Rouen appears to hitve a, good show with 8.12 in the Pohnnginn. Handicap, in which Sweet. Memory is regarded as an unlikely starter. Rose rink made friends by her showing at Levin last week, and with Eaperance will be strongly hacked in the Cup race. Prom what one gathers at headquarters, Matatua, Hymarty, Amber Tips, /iieUing Moment, and Admiration are likely to be well backed In their respective races. Miss, Love is an, unlikely starter at the meeting The Takapuna J.C. N spring meeting will be concluded to-day. Prince Willonyi and Cleft strong (Jlsbome pair in the St. Andrew's Handicap, and whichever is started is bound to run well. Landslide and Lord Kenilworth appears to be the best treated of the Auckland division. Aiuorel who was utlrtlickj. on Saturday, may do better in the Rakin o Handicap today. Big fields will, contest the other events, and on Saturday's form Cyiner, Prince Willonyx, Itathliii and Royal Mark should ail he watched closely.
