Japanese is being taught in the schools, the people are dressing in Japanese style, and the whole place is run on Japanese lines. The trade of the group is now almost wholly with Japan. He had been informed that an American lady mission teacher in the schools had been told that unless she learned Japanese within a year, so as to be able to teach the children, she must make room for another.
