POSITION OF LOCAL BODIES; l (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) j Wellington, Last iftght. • Mr. Hawken (Egmont) asked the Prime Minister whether he will brlag'ta legislation giving relief' to local bodies from the positionfthey are in at present, in that they are compelled to nay interest on overdrafts, when, at the. tlma they may have credits in the batik? There is a widespread feeling among local bodies, he said, that the banks take an undue advantage of the position. Mr. Massey replied: "The matter Is being brought under the notice of the associated banks, and the honorable member will be informed of, the result . in due course."
