The situation at Shatttrhai is critical. The political officer at Shathreh was withdrawn by aeroplane to Nasirie. British, troops encountered a strong hostile force south-east of Hillah, and drove them across the Euphrates. Opposition' north-east of Baghdad is *tUL strong. ■ A besieged garrison at Qarachan, thirty miles south of Kiferi, has been relieved. The communique confirms that the Bolsheviks in north-west Persia forced the Coepacks to abandon Resht, the latter losing heavily.—Renter Service. DISORDER IN PERSIA. TERRORISM US BAKU. Persian advices state that the Bolsheviks landed heavy reinforcements at Enzeh. > The Cossacks evacuated Resht, and are retreating along the ReshtMonjil road. A later message states that British aeroplanes co-operating with the CosBack force against the Bolsheviks successfully bombed ships in Enzeli harbor. 'Advises from the northern Caucasus show a revolt is spreading against the Bolsheviks. Cossacks and tribesmen »rs fraternising, and are jubilant over General Wrangel'a successes. Cholera is rife in Baku, where there are no medical supplies. Executions tb#» are increasing, and the local Soviet 5s shooting fifty persons daily.
