ANOTHER RISE IN COAL.
TO COMMENCE ON SEPTEMBER-1. With the sanction of the Board «t Trade there has been an 'increase of la per ton at the pit-mouth In the prim 00 coal produced in the northern mints. This increase takes effect from September 1, and applies to all grades, inoUjd< ing household coal. However, it is tmlikely that the cost to the domestic consumer will be increased. The least possible increase would be Id per cwt., which would recoup the dealer, to- the extent of Is 8d per ton. Dealers may decide, not to pass on the increase. There has been an increase in the price of Westport coal brought abcSt, it is said, by the rapidly riling costs of production. In the case of the Weltport Coal Company, however, the Increase does not apply to household co»L —Dominion. '"■' >'.
