CANADA'S NAVY.
LORD JELLICOE'S REPORT. DEFENCE OF THE PACIFIC. 0y Teleeraph.—Preis Assn.—Copyright, Received March 11, 3,20 p.m. Ottawa, March 10. Lord Jellicoe's report on a prospective Canadian Navy suggests, as the first of four schemes, a fleet unit of one battle cruiser, two light cruisers, six destroyers, four submarines, other auxiliary vessels, and aircraft. The fourth scheme will be merely one for coastal protection, including three light cruisers, one flotilla leader, twelve torpedo craft, and eight submarines.
The cost of the first scheme will be £12,000,000 annually until 1027 The cost of the fourth scheme, will be £1,000,000 annually.
The -first scheme provides for the defence of the Pacific, but the others do not—Ans.-N.Z, Cable Assn.
