The chairman of the Stratford Railway League hasi written to the general manager of the railways, pointing out the inconvenience caused to the public through carriages being taken off at various points without warning the passengers, and suggesting that steps should he taken to inform the public beforehand of the removal of any carriages. The Commissioner recently wrote to the chairman of the board stating that he had received a letter from the Stratford Borough Council in which the Council stated that it had already agreed to all the conditions laid dowii by the Commissioner, but that it could not agree to the conditions as suggested by the Domain Board. The Council had stated that its object in seeking to gain control of the Domain was to spend money on it, but it did not wish to bind itself to any particular mim, and witli this view the Commissioner concurred. To this letter Mr. fi. X, Curtis, chairman of the Domain Board, lias replied stating that the Board's oTiject was to see that the Borough Council, in. taking one of the Domains, would at least upend more money on it than the Board had been able to do, and would keep down noxious weeds, which, judging by the past experience of the Borough Council's management of its reserves, it was not likely to do unless a competent caretaker was appointed. The matter will be finally considered at the next meeting of the' Domain Board to be held shortlv.
