FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA.
MATTHEW'S REACHES GERMANY.

Received Oct. 26, 5.5 p.m. London, Oct. 24. , The Air Ministry announces that Captain Matthews, who is attempting the flight from London to Australia, arrived at Cologne at 2 o'clock on Wednesday, The Ministry does not know whether he will be allowed to proceed in defiance of the international convention forbidding flights across Germany.—United Service. A NAVAL PATROL. Melbourne, Oct. 25. In the House of Representatives Mr. Cook stated that, besides arrangements on land for the assistance to the competitors in the England to Australia flight, the navy will patrol between Koi pang and Darwin. |
