WEST END SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the West End School Committee was held last night, Mr. W. W. Thomson presiding. Mr. 1). J. Evans, headmaster, reported that for the period of four weeks ending July 25 eleven children had been admitted and twelve had been withdrawn, leaving a total of 503 as against 504 at the beginning of the period. The percentage of attendance was 89. T. He also reported on a visit by Mr. Rawei, a native teacher from Moeroa, who had given an interestin? address. It was understood that the children who did not make the round ,trip on rente Monday would be taken out per motor car on Thursday next, Mr Day having the matter iii hand.
