STRATFORD MAYORAL ELECTION.
To the Editor. Sir,—This flection is likely to lie fought out wit-h a good deal of personal feeling. This should not be the ease. Let each aspirant, for the chief honor of the town light a fair anil above board fight But what do we find? Yesterday eertain ladies were "told off" to canvas eertain people to ascertain how they were voting. This is not British, anil, anyhow, the ballot box is the place to decide the votes. How a person is voting is a private matter unless a person wishes to divulge Tiis intentions. For business and other reasons very often it is better not to say who a person is voting for, but to come to one's door and ask straight out "Who ai-e you voting for?" is certainly nn-Bri-tish and a breach of good breeding.—l am, etc., VOTER.
