The Naval Advisor states that naval ratings from H.M.S. Doris will probably arrive at Wellington by the steamer Port Hacking on Thursday next. It is understood that the vessel will be quarantined for 24 hours after arrive!.

WANGANUI INDIGNANT. Wanganui, Feb. 1, The statement by the Minister of Health that there were 70 notifications of influenza at Wanganui during the .week ending Jan. 20 has created a deal of alarm here. Inquiries made show 110 corroboration of the statement by the Minister so far as the town is fioncerned. Evidently Mr Russell referred to the Wanganui district, which covers a large area, and not the town, where there are few cases.

THE .DRIVERS' DISPUTE. Wellington, Feb. '1 It is authoritatively stated that all negotiations in connection with the drivers' dispute have failed. There is said to he little chance now of a settlement by conciliatory methods.
