FLOODS IN THE SOUTH.
WATERS RISING IN TAIERI RAILWAY DISLOCATION PROBABLE Dunedin, Last Night. In the Baleluthu district the floods still wear an ominous aspect. Though the waters are not increasing to any extent, the pressure on the protective banks is very severe and persistent. Drizzling rain is not helping the sodden banks. At Knitangata, where a very large quantity of water has accumulated, the level of the flood showed no diminution to-day.
In the Taieri district the waters are increasing in South Taieri, and there is a prospect of railway dislocation tomorrow, as the water rose 2 feet to-day, and to-night was over the rails between Owhero and Allan ton, with a further rise probable, and haevy rain is falling.
