SPECIAL DAY OF PRAYER.
REMARKABLE RESPONSE BY THE PUBLIC. ; • By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, April 18. To-day was observed sis a special day of prayer for the nation in the present crisis, and some seven thousand people attended continuous services arranged by the United Christian Council, lasting from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. In view of the remarkable response made by the public, the executive of the council has decided to communicate with the representatives of Protestant churches in other centres, with a view to having similar gatherings arranged.
