The World's correspondent at Italian headquarters states'that the Allies are preparing a great blow. The fierma'ns realise that they underestimated the Ability of Britain and France to send reinforcements. London, Nov. 2S. Italian official: In co-operation with the bombardment of the heights our Batteries concentrated their fire on enemy troops mased and moving on Asiago plateau, the Prirr.olano basin, northward of Col della Berrctta, and the middle Piave. The Italian headquarters states that the enemy, having vainly hammered the valleys on both sides of Mount Grippa, is now attempting to descend from the Settecomuni plateau, in the hope that the threat against Vicenza will induce the main Italian army to withdraw from the Piave line.
The British continue to concentrate in their assgined positions.
DESECRATING VENICE. AUSTRIAN AIRMEN'S THREAT. Received Nov. 29, 10 p.m. Rome, Nov. 28. Austrian airmen 'dropped leaflets to the effect that they would attend mass at St. Mark's. Immediately a great crowd assembled at St. Mark's, and af teT mass vowed they jyould fight to the last to prevent the' Austro-Germans from desecrating Venice. Naval brigades, accustomed to marshes, transformed dykes into trenches, ensuring communication through the labyrinth of canals.
