ANZACS PLEASE THE KING.
NEW LESSON FOR GERMANS, London, September 20. General Monash, in an interview, stated that the King when reviewing the Australian troops at Salisbury Plain rode his favorite Australian dinger. He kept up a running fire of comment, such as: "The silly Germans say that we have no music, but just listen to that Australian band"; "The Germans thought that tliey were going to I'masli the British Empire; those men will show them!"
After he had been cheered by the troops the King said: "That brings a lump in my throat." H:s' Majesty concluded: "These are the finest troops we have seen since the original'.,i,SDedit'/--i----ary Force went to France.''
