By Telegraph.—Press Association. ■ Wellington; Jjktt Night. ihe Governor has received the folW« ing telegram from the Secretary of Stat* for the Colonies: "It is desirable that it should be laid down that general subscriptions, collections or remittances for relief societies operating in enemy-occu-pied territory should not be encouraged. This does not apply to the National Committee for relief in Belgium, which stands on a Bneeial footing, but it does apply to Polish relief, and therefore excludes every committee. Subscriptions made with a view to Polish relief should be used only for the relief of I'oles in Russia, and should be sent through his Majesty's ambassador at Petrograd, or, if preferred, through the Polish War Victims Relief Committee in London. Remittances to individual* in enemy-occupied territory, not being oj enemy nationality, may be made, provided certain conditions laid down are observed, which, are briefly as follows: Firstly: The same individual is not to receive from all sources more than £25 per month; secondly, all remittance? to be made through a bank in the United Kingdom, which can be supervised by. His Majesty's Government."
