| : AXKUAL MEETING. '' ! The annual meeting of the Xew Plymouth Veterans' Association was held in the Masonic Hall, Robe street, on Saturday afternoon. There was a fair attendance, and Colonel John Ellis occupied the chair. Mrs Crooke wrote asldng the chairman to convey to the Association her thanks for their courtesy and kindness in passing a resolutino of thanks for the small services she 'had rendered in repairing the colors. Mrs. Crooke added: ".Please tell theni that I feel deeply touched and honoured by being consideied capable of rendering this service, and I only wish my needlecraft had been as great as the honour and reverence I felt for the.flag." The balance-sheet, showing receipts £•25 Gs lOd, and expenditure £'23, leaving a balance of £2 (is lOd, was read and adopted, on the motion of the chairman and Mr. (i. F. Robinson.. Vicc-president, Colonel J. Ellis (reelected) ; delegates to annual conference, Captain T. Humphries and Mr. R. Arden (re-elected); secretary, Captain J. Biack (re-elected;; treasurer, Captain McKellar (re-elected); auditor, Mr. W. ! D Webster; committee, Messrs C, Adlinn, f!. Robinson, F. Oliver, AV. I l '. Brooking, J. Kenyon, 0. Oxenliam, and Captain Mace. The chairman moved that a vote of thanks be accorded to Rev. A. H. Colvile for his splendid address on the occasion of the depositing of the colors in St. Mary's Church recently.—Seconded by Mr. W. D. Webster am! carried. It was resolved to hold a veteran's church para J j on September 10, at St. Mary's Church, in commemoration of the battle of Te Ngutu o te Manu, members to fall ill at the Post Office corner at 10.30 a.m. An honorarium of £5 was unanimously voted Captain Black, in recognition of •his services during the past year.
