WINTER .SHOW ARRANGEMENTS.

The general committee of the Taranaki Agricultural Society met on Saturday alternoon, when there were present Messrs. J, S. Connett (chairman), (J. Colson, J. R. Rowlands, A. Lister, D. J. Hughes, E. Bayly, S. Vickers, W. Hall, G. Longs tall, J. Allen, M. Fleming, T Luxton, W. B. Grant, A. T. Moore, H. C Sampson, G. A. Adlam, T. Smellie, B. Honeyfield, W. Honeyfield, and Ci Fairbrother. The chairman reported in regard to preliminary arrangements made in connection with establishing the new showground at Waiw'akaiho. He stated that arrangements had been made for the Society to lease an additional 71 acres adjoining the Society's freehold" property. Mr. T. Luxton was appointed one of the judges in the field acreage competitions at the Winter Show. The offer of Mr. 0. J, Herriek to donate a £5 5s challenge cup for a points prize in connection with the honey section at the Winter Show was accepted with, thanks. .Stewards were appointed for the Winter Show, including pupils from the Boys' High School and the Technical School. It was reported that an endeavor was being made to have a series of practical lectures to farmers to be given at the W inter Show. On the motion oi' Mr. Hughes it was decided to arrange with the Education Board to give facilities for school children to attend the lectures. Before the meeting broke up the chairman handed Mr. W. Hall the challenge cup in the cattle section which he won at the recent Autumn Show.
