The steamer Caerloch, which arrived at Christlaiiia recently from the Tyne, reported having rescued two Scotchmen from a lifeboat. The Caerloch* observed a boat containing apparently three lifeless bodies. The gale hindered the launching of a boat, and it was necessary to bear down sufficiently near. It was then seen that two of the men were alive. One, the elder, was clinging to the thwart ao tightly that it v.as necessary to use force to disengage him. He was nearly dead. The other jumped into the sea and was rescued. The third man was dead, and was not taken on board. The two rescued were Alexander Davidson and Kenneth MacLeod, belonging to Peterhead. They were completely exhausted from tiiirst and cold. They were suffering from loss of memory, but explained that their fihip, which sailed from Middlcsborough with a cargo of iron, had sunk. They had been two days and three nights iu the boat without food. LAME BACK.
