OFFENSIVE NEXT MONTH.
SAYS A TOURING NEW ZEALANDER. (Received March 13, 11.15 p.m. London, March 13. M* J. B. Clarkson, of New Zealand, ,a leading motor trader, has just returned from a world tour, which included France. He says he lias the very host authority for stating that the Allies' big offensive will start in April. By the spring the French will have a great Algerian army in the field. While lie was in America, an order for ten thousand machine-guns for the French was placed. He is confident that when the time is ripe the Allies will drive out the Germans from France and Belgium. OFFICIAL REPORT, Wellington, Last Night. The High Commissioner reports from London, under date March 13, 2 a.m.:— North of Verdun there has been no infantry action, but a fairly lively bombardment continues. At Ban de Sapt we destroyed enemy trenches. There were eighteen air fights in the region of Etain, the Germans being put to flight.
