The Labor Council resolved that the question of the cost of living should be referred to the Commodities Commission and that the Commission's powers be extended, enabling it to fix the cost. Melbourne, March 10. A regulation has been issued ordering companies to supply lists of enesay shareholders. Owing to the diminution of availableshipping in the Commonwealth by sale of vessels and further pending sales, the Federal Executive has approved of a regulation wliereunder a vessel owned in or under charter to the Commonwealth, and British vesesls arrived ol arriving, stay not leave for an oversea destination unless licensed. Vessels engaged in the regular trade between Australia and New Zealand and the Pacific Islands are exempt.
