TARIKI. (From Our Own Correspondent). On Thursday. '.March 2, a progressive euchre party was held in the Tariki Hall in honor of Lance-corporal Davidson and Private. Fabish, who are shortly leaving for the front. About eoventy settlers were present, and amused themselves by playing euchre, Mr. Laurence winning the gentlemen's prize and Miss Cowlc'v the indies'. Mr. .1. Therkleson (act'-ing-chairman of the Tariki Patriotic. Society) presented each departing soldier with a silver-mounted pipe. Both-troop-on suitably acknowledged the >riits. Supper followed, and afterwards" the room was cleared for dancing, which concluded a pleasant evening. The long-looked-fov rain has freshened up the whole countryside, especially the turnip crops.
