IN MESOPOTAMIA.
BRITISH SURPRISED, BY TREACHEROUS ARABS. Received Feb. 13, 5.5 p.m. ■Lndon, Feb. 11. The War Office reports that a detachment, making a reconnaissance on one of the branches of the Tigris, named Slattelhei, did not find any Turks. Arabs, hitherto friendly, attacked while the detachment was returning to Nasriyah, and the British suffered 373 casualties. The enemy lost over three hundred killed. A puntive column that was since, sent surprised the Arabs and destroyed four villages.
