A SOLDIER'S SUICIDE.
AFTER ATTEMPTED MURDER. j By Cable.—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Dec. 17. i A tragedy has occurred at Redfern. Alicia Wilkinson was walking in the (Street when a soldier, named Henry Lawson,'seized lier, saying "Why did you throw me over'/ Aren't you going jto say good-bye?' The girl said she had already done so. Lawson drew a revolver and pointed it at the girl, who struck it aside as he fired and fell down worn fright. Lawson again fired at the girl, grazing her j cheek, and then ran away, pursued by the onlookers. Presently he stopped and, turning the revolver to his temple, committed suicide.
