PATRIOTIC FUND.
Mr. J. W. H. Martin, of Pukes mho. writes to Mr. Halcoinbe. chairman of the North Taranaki Patriotic League: '•f see by the papers that last Monday's Gala Day at Urenui has so far realised the magnificent sum of £01:!, which is indeed very creditable to the districts concerned. It clearly demonstrates what can be accomplished when combined and ungrudging forces are put to the test. With a view of further amalgamating our local patriotic funds. 1 shall have great pleasure in handing you a cash donation of £25, providing'other contributors raise the above amount to £750, and to further stimulate the spirit of patriotism, I will add f> per cent, to whatever sum is received o'-» and above the said amount.
