ADVICE TO DAIRYMEN.

HOW TO INCREASE THE YIELD.

ONLY TOUCHED THE FRINGE.

In speaking at the; opening of t!ie Patua Dairy Factory yesterday, Mr. A. Morton, chairman of the National Dairy Association, gave some sound advice on the question of increasing the milk production. Referring to the progress that had been made in the dairying industry during the past twenty-five years, he said that there was still room for much further development, for he was satisfied that there was not one farm in the district that was producing to its utmost capacity. This applied not alone to their own district but to every district. Id was necessary to use the best methods, and improve their system of farming and their herds so as to increase the mill; production. He was going to give a few words of advice, but would first say that they all knew that so far as the producing capabilities of their farms were concerned, they had only yet touched the fringe, and were not getting anything like the capacity they should if tliev used the right methods.
