TERRIFIC FIGHTING. FAVORABLE TO THE ITALIANS. Received July 7, 9.15 p.m. Rome, July 7. Terrific fighting is going on, on the C'arso plateau, and is developing favorably for the Italians, who advanced six miles from the margin of the tableland towards the Vipacco Valley, where the enemy, in considerable force, occupy three successive parallel positions along rows of high hills on a front of three miles, 'lhe debatable ground, however, extends, backwards twenty miles. The whole region abounds with wonderful grottos, insidious tarns, and spongy subsoil, and this makes the distriet a vast iiland sea with islands made by roak» iiid mountains. Tha Italian adranoa was assisted by an admirable airship flset and thei presence of King Emanuel. The battle has reached its height; Tha : Italians captured a battery and took 600 prisoners.

A GREAT BATTLE. AUSTRIANS CLAIM SUCCESS. Received July 7, 8.5 p.m. Amsterdam, July 7. A Vienna official report says: Fighting in the Gorizia district developed yesterday into a great battle, as a result of fin attack by the Third Italian Army, including four army corps, which advanced under the protection of formidable artillery fire, against our front from the bridgehead at Gorizia to the sea. The attacks were completely repulsed, the enemy suffering terrible losses.
