CARDS.
AVENUE ItOAD CLI-B. ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Avenue Head Card Club- on Monday evening, Mr E. Sole presided over a good attendance. REPORT. The report stated that the year had been very successful both financially and in the tournament. The club had a balance in hand of B 13b Hid. Twelve matches were played, the club winning seven, drawing two, and rosing three. As far as was known the euchre team annexed the "Malono fMiiclit" for the third time, winning eight matches drawing three, and losing one.
OFFICERS. Officers were elected, as follows: l'refvident, Mr E, Sole (re-elected); vicepresidents,, Messrs E. Elliott, \V. ,1. Penn. T. Avery, F. Richards. T. 11'. Robinson R. W. ]). Robertson, W. lull' (nil reelected), W. 11. iuoyes, K. \V. Garner. K, Webster, and M. King; secretary. Mr Leo. C. Richards; delegate, Mr ,W. Hooker; auditor, ih- E. fco'.e. GENERAL. In answer to a question, it was stated that the result of the competition bad not been published, because some clubs had failed 'to send in their score sheets.
Beverml requests for games were received from country clubs, and it was decided to try and arrange a match with Oniata at an early date. The delegate w.is instructed to advocate the old style 'of scoring, and not the table system, as last season.
