O'Connor, speaking at the annual convention of the United Irish League of Great Britain in Caxtwi Hall, t stated that the Irish papers were filled with accounts of demonstrations, bonfires on every hill, processions, meetings and bands playing in every town in Ireland because Home Rule had been won.
