ATHLETICS.

LEPPERTON--SENTRY HILL PICNIC. A very successful and enjoyable sports meeting ana picnic was held on the Waitara Racecourse (kindly lent by Dr. Valintine) on Easter Monday. There was a record attendance, and everything went off well. The officials were as follows: Judges, Messrs. H. J. Okey, M.P., H. B. Ltpper, Black-halt, U. Sole. liandicappcrs, Messrs. E. Hellier and L. Jennins. Starters, Messrs. T. Baker and H. Wills. Children'si events, Messrs. W. A. Brown, 0. Cook, E. Oliver. A special tribute must be paid to the •zealous service rendered by Mr. W. A. Brown, who 'had charge of the children's events, and to whom fell a large share of the work of the day.
