Witnesses before the House of Commons on the Cigarette Bill asserted that most society women throughout the Canadian cities were confirmed cigarette smokers. The habit was increasing to an alarming cvtent. Of three thousand (delinquent children, 65 per cent, used cigarettes. The suggestion was made to the committee that it should prevent the use of tobacco by girls and boys throughout Canada.
