PRESS COMMENT. London, June 20. The Times considers that mainly owing to the fine speeches of Mr. Asquith and Mr. Balfour the House of Commons emerged from a very critical ordeal with more credit than seemed at one time probable. Leading Unionist papers deplore that the House did not rise above partisanship. I The Daily Mail says the debate should I have ended when Sir Rufus Isancs and 'Mr. Lloyd George confessed their error and quitted the House. Some of the Unionist papers regard Mr. Bonar Law's rejection of Mr. Adkin's compromise as a mistake.
