NEW PLYMOUTH SOCIAL NEWS Dance.—The New Plymouth Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club held their annual dance in the Brougham Street Hall on Wednesday, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all present. The halt was prettily decorated with bunting and large Japanese umbrellas, and the supper table was greatly admired, the floral decorations being scarlet japonica and berries, the credit of which .being due to Miss Matthews. Kebbell, white charmeuse, with tunic of apricot hinon, corsage trimmed with white fur; Mrs. Paul, black silk, with sequinned trimming; Miss Saxton, pale heliotrope charmeuse, corsage draped with .cream lace; Miss M. Thomson, cream satin, with ninon tunic, pale pink rose on corsage; Miss Carrington, black velvet, relieved with drapings of cream lace; Miss L.. Foote, apricot satin charmeuse; Miss Kirkby, eau-de-nil silk, with pale lilac ninon tunic; Miss Hay ward, pale pink silk, with ninon tunic, banded with black lace insertion; Miss K. Mills, wedgwood blue shot silk; Miss Colvile, pale apricot charmeuse, veiled in ninon, with folded velvet silk belt; Miss Blundell, pink charmeuse, relieved with black; Miss Bayley, pale blue charmeuse, with hand-painted violet ninon tunic; Mrs. Lodge, cream satin, relieved with scarlet rose; Miss Dempsey, cream silk, tangerine rose in corsage; Miss Drake, cream satin; Miss Grant, rose-pink satin cuarmeuse; Miss Simpson, violet fisher-net veiling, primrose;colored silk; Mrs. Home, pink and grey figured charmeuse, veiled in black ninon; Miss Arden, cream satin; Miss D. Simpson, blue ninon over white silk, slashed with scarlet. PERSONAL ITEMS. Miss.Dive, of Eltham, is on a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. H. Stocker, who has been on a visit to Wellington, returned last week. Miss Wilkinson, of Eltham, during hel short visit in New Plymouth, was the guest of Mrs. 0. Fraser.' Mr. and Mrs. Birch-Johnston, who are 'n Wellington;,- return early next week. Miss L. Fitzherbert is the guest of Mrs. Bedford.
