> MONTI 11 A" MEETING. ! The monthly meeting of the Taranaki • Land Board was held at the Crown Land • Board's office yesterday, when there were > present: Messrs. Billiard (Commissioner i of Crown Lands, in the chair), Heslop, - Rattenbnry and Coxhead. < The Gazette notifying the appoint--1 ment of Mr. A. Coxhead as a mem-, 1 ber of the Board under date of May i 24 was read. The chairman and Messrs. I Heslop and Rattenbury welcomed Mr. Coxhead, who suitably responded. Leave of absence was granted to Mr. ' Ryan. ' The schedule of successful applicants 1 for sections in recent ballots was subI mitted to the Board and approved. The 1 Board also confirmed the rejection of one > applicant for section' No. 3, blk. 3, Mahoe, who was not present for examination by the Commissioner on the 4th inst. . APPLICATIONS FOR TRANSFER. The proposal to offer sections 1, 2 and 3, blk. 47, town of Waitara East, for sale by public auction at a valuation to be paid, was also approved, as was also the proposal to offer for sale by public auction section 172, Oakura, at an upset price of £lO. DEFERRED PAYMENT LICENSES. Clias. Watehorn was granted a deferred payment license of sections 8 and !), blk. 3, Omona; without any special conditions as regards residence and improvements, these having been fulfilled under the lease. J. A. Carr's application to purchase sec. 52, blk. 4, Paritutu, on deferred payment, was approved,, license to include residence and improvement conditions , of the lease. . 'EXPENDITURE OF THIRDS. 'The proposal of the Taranaki County . Council for the expenditure of £34 Is lid, thirds, and of the Whtinganiomona County Council, for the expenditure of £9O (is lid. thirds, was approved. The proposals of the following local bodies were approved, subject to being in order: Wairoa Road Hoard, £2O (is Id; Motoi'oa Road Hoard, £1 18s lOd; Patea County Council, £7S 5s lid. The proposal of the Patea County Council for the expenditure of £3BB lis 7d might be approved, subject to amendment in regard to see. 24. blk. It, Aria, thirds, which should be spent on the Makaekatoa road. GENERAL. Application by G. E. S. Daniels for freehold, of sections 1 and 4. blk. 1. Kapara, was left in the hands of the Commissioner. Application by .T. Pattillo for issue of license sec. Hi, blk, 12, Mapara, was approved. W. IT. Tl'ehVs application for lease' of sec. 3, blk. 4, Matiere township, public buildings reserve, was approved. 15, J. Wilton applied for reduction in I the valuation of sec. 3, blk. 8, Upper Waitara.—Resolved that the Board has no power to reduce, but that the selector ' can surrender and leave selection at a reduced rental, loaded with value of improvemenis. S. J. Crazier applied for see. 43. blk. 4, Paritutu S.D.— To be informed that approval is rescinded. Mrs. Gillbanks applied for see. 43, Ppotswood.—To be approved if the only applicant. W. H. Fitzpatriek's application for sec. 1(14. blk. 4. Paritutu. was refused. ■ Valuation and subdivision of sections surveyed by Mr. Lysohs in blk. 10. Mapara, with a view to offering the land for selection on renewable lease conditions were approved, the Commissioner to arrange a suitable date (about the end of July) to ballot with other lands at Tauniarum-.i, consisting of a'&out 7000 acres. The Board then adjourn.*' till 2.30 this afternoon, when the laud ballot will be taken. A further meeting will lie held on Wednesday next at 10 a.m., for the purpose of examining applicants for land in the Tariki estate, near Stratford. It is anticipated that there will he quite a number of applications for this land.
