ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
COLLISION WITH A TRAIN. Bj Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Friday. Mm Micliael O'Connor, aged 50 years, the wife of a farmer at Seadown was killed this morning at. the railway crossing at the Washdj'ke. She was driving in a trap with her son and another hoy, and the Fairlie train dashed into them, Mrs. O'Conner being killed instantly. The boy named Tuite received a severe scalp wound but the boy O'Connor was unhurt. A MINER KILLED. Waihi, Friday. A miner named {Timothy Higgins, working at the Grand Junction Mine, fell down a shaft yesterday for a distance of 30 feet, receiving injuries to his head and hack, which ended fatally at the hospital this morning. Deceased was married and leaves a widow with no children.
