Postal branch.—Wednesday, December 25, and January 1 (Christmas Day and New Year's Day) will be observed as close holidays. On Thursday, December 2fi (Boxing Day), the Post Office will be open in all branches, except Money Order and Savings Bank, from !) a.m. to 10 a.m. , Telegraph Office.—The Telegraph Office will be open on Wednesday, the 25th inst. (Christmas Day) from' 9.30 to' 10 a.m. and from 5 to 5.30 p.m. On Thursday (Boxing Day) and Wednesday (New Year's Day), the hours will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight. Telephone Exchange.—The Telephone Exchange will remain open continuously. Private box lobby.—Sunday hours will bo observed on Dec-ember 25 and January f; usual hours on December 26. Mails.—The usual despatch of all mails will be made up to 8 a.m. on each of the holidays; receivers and posting boxes will be cleared accordingly. Travelling Post Office will ''run as usual.

Counter.—Delivery of town letters (ordinary and registered) will be made on Tuesday evenings. 24th and 31st inst, from 8 to !) p.m. Carriers' deliveries.—One full delivery by letter-carriers will lie made on the 2(ith inst.. commencing at 7.30 a.m. SPECIAL FORM OF TELEGRAPH MESSAGE. Tu order to facilitate the transmission by telegraph of Christmas and New Year's greetings, special printed forms containing the message "Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy Now Year" may be obtained at the Telegraph Office for use on the following dates: 10th, 20th, 21st, 23rd, 24th, 28th.. 27th, 28th, 30th and 31st December. A uniform charge of sixpence for each Midi telegram will be made, provided the address and signature do not contain more than e'even words.
