ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
OLD LADY DROWNED. Bj Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. A body found in the harbor has been identified as that of Mrs. Eliza Hodson, a widow aged 74 years. She had been living with a married son at Birkenhead, and had been to Auckland on business. It is supposed that after getting off the ferry steamer in the dark she walked over the edge of the wharf. Mrs. Hodson formerly resided in Napier. A GIRL'S SUICIDE. Christchurch, Thursday. Eliza Jane McCaffrey, a single young woman, was found hanging in an outhouse at her brother's residence. St. Albans, this morning. It is stated that quarrelled with her lover.
