THE KAIPARA TROUBLE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. With regard to yesterday's Dunedin telegram re the All-Red trouble of officers on the steamer Kaipara, on enquiry at the Christchurch office of the '-New Zealand Shipping Company it was ascertained that when the Kaipara was discharging in Auckland last month complaints were made as to the officers' long hours. On receipt of these complaints arrangements were made at once to relieve the officers by engaging some hands to do some of their work. Since then nothing further has been heard of the matter and no difficulty had been experienced when the steamer was at Wellington, Lyttelton or Dunedin. BAPTIST UNION. Christchurch, Last Night. The annual meeting of the Baptist Union of New Zealand opened this morning with a devotional meeting and a conference on "Work for God in the Churches." At this- -evening's sitting the Rev. A. H. Kempton delivered his presidential address on "Christian Mysticism."
