V.A.T.C. MEETING. LADY MEDALLIST WINS THE ECLIPSE STAKES . 3y Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 16, 9.10 p.m. Caulfield, October 16. Delightful weather favoured the second day of the V.A.T.C. meeting. The course had been drenched with rain since Saturday and was in splendid condition. There was a godd attendance. Results:— Emo Hurdle Race, two miles.—Home Rule, 10.11, 1; Bob Gilder, 11.1, 2; Common King, 11.3, 3. Ten others started. Wimmera led to 'the first hurdle, where Home Rule headed the field. He increased his lead by three lengths at the mile post and ultimately won by a length and a half, with four lengths between aecond and third. Wimmera was fourth and Moutoa a bad last. Time, 3min 47% tec.

Mona Handicap, four furlongs.—Arndel, I 7.11, 1; Chica, 7.9, 2; Ordinal, 8.7. 3. [Twenty-one others started. Twelfth Night 'was first to move, but was quickly replaced by Chica, who led to the turn accompanied by Myrka and Early Flower. At the distance Ordinal and Arndel put in a claim and Arndel won by a short neck, with half a neck between second and third. Time, 50sec. Eclipse Stakes, 1 mile and 3 furlongs. —Lady Medallist, 1; Moe, 2; Flavian. 3. Karnattan, Bobadea, Wilari and Avonwort also started. At the mile post Avonwort slightly led Moe, followed by Karnattan. Half a mile from home Moe took charge from Lady alist, Bobadea and Flavian. At this stage Wilari broke a blood vessel and retired, Flavian putting in a fast run. Lady Medallist headed him at the distance and won comfortably by a length and a half from Moe, with Flavian a half a length away. Bobadea was fourth, and then came Karnattan and Avonwort. Time, 2min 22% sec. Corinthian Plate, one mile.—Persian Chief, 11.1, 1; Blind Harry, 12.1, 2; Royal Fleet, 11.9, 3. Seven others started. Eulbertie led to the turn where Persia* passed him and won easily by threequarters of a length, with "four lengths between second and third. Time, lmin 46% sec.

Coongy Handicap, one mile and three furlongs. Artesian, 8.13, I; Roval Scotch, 9.1, 2; Sandbath, 8.3, 3. Lord Alwyne, Magas, Golden Shore, Blairmount, Indiscreet. Parhad, Nari and Iliad also started. Most of the running was made by Indiscreet, Nangar and Royal Scotch. Sandbath took charge at the half-mile post from Roval Scotch and Artesian. Royal Scotch led into the straight from Sandbath, Artesian and Indiscreet. Artesian challenged at the distance and won by a head with five lengths between second and third. Time. 2min 2iy a sec.

Moonga Handicap, five furlongs.—Rylvander. 0.9, 1; Peck o'Maut. 7.1,°2; Twa Brigs. 7.13. 3. Fourteen others started. Sylvander drew away easily at the distance and won by four lengths. Time, lmin 9|Asec.
