LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT. The New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Stratford branch, report as follows: On Friday, June 2€, we held a clearing sale- on account of' Mr: Edward Row on the Brookes road. Although -the day was wet and cold, there .were a large number of people present, and sundries and stock sold under keen competition, the cows averaging 'about £lO. Milk cans realised 27s each; fowls'2s Gd each; hand chaffcutter 5Gs; S.F. plough £6 7s Gd; Planet Junior drill £1 Is; jack £3 8s; and the usual farm -sundries realised very good prices. Spring dray £ls 10s, harness 50s, gig £l2, harness 40s, one horse rising seven years £2O 10s; mare in foal £l4; 18 months' fillv £6 15s. A good many of the cows, showed age, but anything young and showing quality was very keenly competed for. Prices realised were as .follows: For first-grade £8 10s to £l6 ss, and second grade £4 10s to £7 l-7s Gs. Store cows, £3 10s; Jersey bull, £6. A nice line of six Jersey-Holstein weaners realised £4 2s to £5.
