NOLAN & CO.'S REPORT. L. A. Nolan and Co. report for the week ending Wednesday, July 3: — Poultry.—On Saturday we had a good average entry. Birds in good condition are selling well. The demand for poorconditioned birds is slack owing to the high price of foodstuffs. We quote. — Cockerels (fair to good-conditioned) 2s Id to 2s 7d, others Is Od to Is lOd, hens (good condition) 2s Id to 2s 6d, others Is 5d to Is 9d, roosters (old) Is 2d to Is Od, ducks (fair order) Is 7d to Is Od. In the mart hedge and ornamental paints met with good demand. Very little furniture was offered. Fruit.—The market is bare, very small supplies coming to hand. Prices show a good increase in all lines. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday our ; pens -were taxed to their utmost. Pure- j bred birds were keenly sought after, evidencing the fact that it pays to breed the, best. Prices as under:—Hens Is 7d to 2s, young 2s 2d to 3s, pullets (young) 2s 2d to 2s lOd, forward 3s 7d to* (is 9(1, cockerels Gs fid to Bs, ducks 2s to 2s !)d, drakes 3s to 5s Od, p.b. brown Leghorn cockerel 8s fid. ( The usual line of auction sundries realised satisfactory prices. Fruit.—During the week there has been very little offering, and consequently prices were high. Bananas (green Rarotongan) 12s fid to 13s Od, ripe 3d per lb, oranges (originals) 9s 9d to 10s, re-packs 10s 6d to lis, cape gooseberries 4s fid to 5s (kl, apples (dessert) 7s 6d to 10s, pears 7s 6d to 13s, pumpkins 5s fid.
