A POSTPONED FUNERAL

THE OOEONEK INTERVENES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. A man named Jas. W. Cumming, aged forty-six years, who resided at Cavershaw, died, on Saturday morning, and was to have been buried to-day, but at the last minute the funeral had to be postponed, after the relatives and friends had assembled. Intimation was received from the coroner that a post-mortem examination must be held. Deceased had been employed by the Drainage Board, and after his death his relatives served on the Board a claim for compensation, as in their opinion his death was due to gas poisoning. A medical examination, however, showed that death was due to natural causes. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
