Tn the Reichstag debate on the foreign policy the Socialists declared that a proper understanding depended on Germany alone, as Great Britain had repeatedly pronounced in favor of an entente. Dr. Spahn, of the Centre Part}% desired that Germany's relations with England should be intimate and as good as possible. Herr Basserman said: We must find means for a rapprochement with Great Britain. Herr Kiderlin stated that it was erroneous to think that Germany was opposed to the abolition to the right of seizure at sea. He commended the English system of rigorously insisting on demands which fitted in with the British policy.
