SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. ~ Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Department published the following summary and forecast at 5 p.m.: Summary: The barometer has fallen everywhere during the past thirty-six hour?. The weather has been misty and cloudy at times in the north, and cold and showery -in the south. The winds have been variable, •but strong westerlies have predominated. Forecast: Present indications are for cold and damr> weather generally, and enow is probable on the higher levels in the south. The barometer is unsteady, a further fall preceding a decided rise in the north, but a temporary rise is probable in ths south. Strong northwesterly to south-westerly winds are to be expected in most parts of the country. _ .^.
