~ SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. ! Wellington. Last Night. I The Meteorological Office has issued! the following .summary and forecast: —; High pressure prevails in the north, and the barometer rose slightly above the normal in the southern districts on Sunday, but has fallen again to-day. Stormy weather has prevailed about Foveaux Btrait, and cool and changeable weather generally. Present indications are for a falling barometer in the southern districts and elsewhere. After 24 hours lair and warm weather will probably prevail, except on the West Coast of the southernmost districts of the South Island, where showery weather is to be expected. W'-sterly breezes generally, changing to northerly and increasing Strong to gale shortly southward of New Plymouth and Castlepoint. A low pressure is due to pass in the south about Thursday.
