THE BLENHEIM FLOODS
WATERS NOW RECEDED. By Telegraph—Press Association, Blenheim, Thursday. The flood waters have now receded. Most of the bridges have been strained and are unsafe for traffic. The Opawa river broke through the bank on the east of Blenheim yesterday and flooded Dillon's Point district, some loss of stock resulting. The first mail since Saturday arrived to-day. It was brought by trap from Picton. The Moles worth road is washed away in many places. Serious floods are reported in the Flax-bourne district. It is hoped to restore the train service with Picton to-morrow.
