A YANKEES TOURNAMENT. A Yankee tournament was held yesterday among the boys of the High School. Two spells of uve minutes each were played, two points being obtained for a win, and one for a draw. Four teams entered for the senior competition. In the first round, Adlara's teaim (three points) played a draw with Box's team, whilst Grant's team (3) also direw with Little's team. In the second round, Adlam drew with Grant, there being no score, whilst Box drew with Little, also no score. In the final round, Adlaan, (3) drew with Little (3), and Box beat Grant by 5 points to nil. Box's team thus won the competition with 4 points, Adlain's and Little's teams each gaining .V points, and Grant's 2 points. Tlie' winning team was comprised of the following: Box, Mulloy, A. Little, Monteath, Newell, Hooker, and Bruce. j
• Three teams entered for the junior competition. In the first round, Swing's team .beat Campbell's team by 3 points to 0. In the second round, Ewing's team defeated Monteath's by 3 .points to 0. In the third round, playing-off for the "wooden spoon," Campbell's team beat Monteath's by 3 points to 0. Ewing's team won the competition with 4 points, Campbell's being second witli 2 points. The winning team consisted of the following: Ewing (2), Clemow, Leech, Chong, Hooker, and BlundeH. Messrs. Ward and' Ryder refereed.
