DROPPED DEAD, By Telegraph—Preae Association. Auckland, Last Night. A farmer named Frederick Candwell, who resided at Wade, dropped dead in his house this morning, Candwell was in good health generally, and the cause of his death is not known. ACCIDENTALLY SHOT DEAD. Ashburton, Last Night. David Stohr, an old and respected resident of Methven, accidentally shot himself this morning while out shooting sparrows. He was found by neighbors with a frightful wound in his head. Death must have been instantaneous. YOUNG MAN MISSING. Masterton, Thursday. It was reported to the police yesterday that a young man named James Kingdon, son of S. Kingdon, sen., of Masterton, had been missing from home since Monday night., It appears that Kingdon refcurhed from Carterton with several companions, but his whereabouts since are not known. The police made an unsuccessful search yesterday, and the search was renewed to-day, but so far with no result. BUSHFELLING ACCIDENT. Eketahuna, Thursday. A young man named Shirley, while bus'hfelling at Atea, .was caught by a tree springing back, and his right leg was severely crushed. He was brought into Eketahuna, and it was found necessary to amputate the limb below the knee. He is progressing favorably. A CARTER INJURED. Pahiatua, Thursday. A serious accident has 'owurred to Mr. Henry Futchcr, a borough carter. He was engaged in carting the trimmings from the trees of the town squares, and was just about to drive off with a load when he fell off the dray on to the road. Futcher, who is an elderly man, sustained very severe injuries to his spine, and he lies in a critical state. FOUND DEAD. Whangarei, Thursday. Charles Taylor, a married man, of Whakapara, left Hikurangi for home last night, and his dead, body was found on the road at Otonga this morning. The police are investigating the case. A CARPENTER'S SUICIDE. Ohristchurch, Last Night. The police authorities in Christchuroh received a telegram to-day stating that a married man named David Stoba, a carpenter at Methven, had been found dead in his traphouse at eight oclock this morning with a shot wound in his head. A gun was lying beside him with an exploded cartridge in it. He had suffered from bad health lately, and borrowed the gun from a neighbor. - ]
