A PUBLIC DANGER.
To the Editor, Sir, —Wc have heard a good deal lately I about the devotion to duty of the bor-l, ough inspector and of the fact that he ! is "no respeetpr of persons." Perhaps lie, together with the rest of the community, has been broken in by a certain medical motorist to jump for his life daily and to say nothing. This medical man has absolutely coerced the people of Xew Plymouth, and the whole community when it hears the whizz of a car anxiously looks towards it to see if this devastating doctor is aboard. If he is, the wise person remains on the sidewalk. Why this njaq should be permitted to do exactly as he likes in his car is a perpetual puzzle. It is merely [because he has trained the community to be on the alert for his car that he I does not kill somebody. All the;mothcrs • in New Plymouth warn their children [to "look out" for this special car. The | only person who seems to know nothing about it is the borough iivspecftbr.' If the borough is frighteneii of the doctor, couldn't the Senior-Sergeant take a hand!—l am, etc.,
•WARE Tim; DOCTOR! "CLEANLINESS."' ! ' To the Editor.'7 .'.';' Sir,—l was pleased to read your remarks under the above heading. The necessity for them shows clearing neglect of duty on the part of local authorities and the Health Department',;" whom, if they cared to use their eyes, cannot fail to see most insanitary conditions obtaining in the centre of the town. Is it anyf wonder that we have typhoid in,.our\ midst? The attention of the Minister j for the Health Department should be ] called to this matter.—l am, etc., . SANITAS.
