A Dunedin telegram rep6rts that Mr. John Macphcrson, commercial master at the Boys' High School, died .from heart failure on Monday. Mr. .1. \V. Emmorson, of Waverley, died at the* Xew Plymoiil.li hospital yesterday, ilo was but 40 years of age. Ho leaves a widow and family of five children. 'JTic funeral takes place at Wayerler to-day. It in believed in well-informed circles that the Hon. T. .McKcnzie will succeed Sir Wm. Hall-Jones as High Commissioner in London, and that Mr. W. T. Jennings, M.P., will be given the Hon.
